Laurent Zufferey’s season starts with a blast on Friday 26th of August, with his first appearance in the pit, conducting five performances of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” in a full staged show from Ouverture Opera, where is has been working as assistant to Pierre Bleuse.
”Assistant” will be the theme of this season, as Laurent has been appointed in this position by both the Basel Sinfonietta and the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège, which will add up to a staggering 17projects assisting various renowned conductors (Gergely Madaras, Baldur Brönniman, Lionel Bringuier, Elena Schwarz, Pablo Rus-Bruseda and many others). He will also have the opportunity to conduct both ensembles in various concerts such as the OPRL's "Music Factory", and even share the podium with Baldur Brönniman for Charles Ives' 4th Symphony at the Basel Sinfonietta's season finale.

The development of Valéik, of which Laurent is musical director and principal conductor, also brings its share of concerts, with highlights such as Richard Strauss' "Metamorphoses" or Mozart's 41st Symphony.
